WEST INDIES POWER (NEVIS) BEGINS DRILLING SECOND GEOTHERMAL DEVELOPMENT WELL
June 24, 2008
Today in Nevis, West Indies Power (Nevis) Ltd began drilling a second geothermal development well (Nevis 2) with the purpose of expanding the projected capacity of the geothermal resource reservoir discovered at Nevis 1.
Nevis 2 is expected to be completed by the end of July after which West Indies Power (Nevis) Ltd will move to Nevis 3 and drill a third geothermal development well.
The data collected from the three wells will determine the total projected capacity of the geothermal resource, in Nevis, estimated to be in the range of 200-500 MW.

After the completion of Nevis 3, sometime in September this year, West Indies Power (Nevis Ltd.) will move into production drilling.
Nevis 2 is located 1.5 miles south of Nevis 1 where a commercial hydrothermal geothermal well was discovered on June 2, 2008, proving the existence of a geothermal reservoir on Nevis.
